Life is not fair. It's just not. None of it.
Any way you look at it, life is not fair. It doesn't matter if you are talking about heavy stuff or silly stuff. None of it is fair.
Teenagers experience unwanted pregnancies while loving couples experience infertility. Some children have brain injuries while others have superior intelligence. Kids with brain injuries can be incapacitated OR can walk and run. One woman battles alcoholism while another is able to enjoy a glass of wine. One man never has to work a day in his life while another will never make more than minimum wage throughout his life. The office jerk might get the promotion while the nice guy doesn't. The other agency gets the big account. Some kids make the team, and some don't. Young people get, fight, and die from cancer. Car accidents kill people. Some people are born into privilege while others aren't. There are tall people and short people. ALS, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Diabetes, strokes, heart attacks...not fair.
Gratitude helps. If you can find it, if you can look for it, if you can dig it out, GRATITUDE takes the sting out of the reality that life is not fair! Is it easy to find? It gets easier the more you do it. Look around you! When have you been on the other side of that "Life's not fair" complaint? For what are you thankful?
My list won't fit in this blog post.
